As the warm weather comes in we can take a quick breath before the summer waiver period begins.  Please make sure to have your summer waiver signed and on file with your AD before your first contact with your athletes.  You can get this form on the high school league website, or by contacting your AD.

Our most recent section rep meeting was a very productive one.  We discussed the dress code for the state tournament and will have an official code finalized at the fall meeting.  We want to make sure that our coaches all demonstrate their professionalism, both in their appearance and their conduct.

We were pleased to have a number of athletes achieve All-State and All-State Honorable Mention status.  There were 265 athletes receiving Honorable Mention certificates (All-Around = 90 athletes, Vault = 126, Bars = 115, Beam = 136, Floor = 155 and 96 that received All-State certificates (All-Around = 32, Vault = 54, Bars = 31, Beam = 42, Floor = 40).  I’d like to extend a big thanks to Martha Driscoll-Nelson for her lead in this area and for tallying the numbers.

Our fall clinic will be held October 1 and 2 at Big Lake High School.  If you have any requests/suggestions about topics or presenters please let me know.

Thanks to all of the fabulous coaches around the state.  You make a huge difference in your athlete’s lives.
